NISSAN REPORTS NOVEMBER SALES IN EUROPE
ROLLE, Switzerland (December 8th, 2008) - Nissan has reported 34,179sales in Europe in November representing a decrease of 30.5% year on year. A total of 565,001 units have been sold since January 2008, up by 8.4% compared to the previous year.
Sales for Qashqai remained in line with last year despite steep declines in TIV across Europe with 12,717 units sold in November. Market share in Italy and Spain improved year on year in November with 2.7% v 2.2% and 3.5% v 3.1% respectively.
Francois Goupil de Bouille, vice president for sales for Nissan in Europe commented, “The economic climate continued to deteriorate in November across Eastern & Western Europe with further challenges in the coming months where the outlook is not positive. Despite intense competition and downward pressures, Nissan improved its market share year on year in key markets such as Spain, Italy and France”.
