NISSAN REPORTS MARCH SALES IN EUROPE

ROLLE, Switzerland (April 3rd, 2009) - Nissan in Europe has reported 41,938sales in March, representing a decrease of 47,7% year on year.


“The introduction of scrap incentives in some markets has boosted demand but overall the market place is still very challenging. Nissan continues to perform in line with our expectations across most European markets”, said Francois Goupil de Bouillé, Vice President - Sales for Nissan in Europe.


Key markets highlights:


·         Provisional market shares in Russia (7.4%), Spain (4.8%), Belgium (2.5%), Poland (3.5%) and Portugal (2.9%) are ahead of last year.

·         In countries where the Government introduced Scrap incentives, the market grew: +40% in Germany versus last year, +3 % in France versus last year, and in Italy the market improved versus previous months.
