NISSAN REPORTS JUNE 2009 SALES IN EUROPE
ROLLE, Switzerland (July 7, 2009) - Nissan in Europe has reported 42,100 sales in June, representing a decrease of 26% year on year.
“In Western Europe in the major markets of UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy combined, customer demand was high and we sold more cars than June 2008, driven mainly by Government scrap incentives plus the first full month of Pixo sales ” - Francois Goupil de Bouillé, Vice President - Sales for Nissan in Europe.
Key markets highlights:
- France improved its market share with 1.9% vs 1.6% last year
- Spain also improved market share year on year (3.3% vs 3.1%)
- Italy showed good results also improving its market share (2.4 % vs 1.8% last year)
- UK Market share increased to 3.7% vs 3.2% last year
- Greece and Ireland are also up on the previous year
