NISSAN REPORTS JULY 2009 SALES IN EUROPE

 

ROLLE, Switzerland (Aug 6, 2009) - Nissan in Europe has reported sales of 44,593 units in July, representing a decrease of 16.1 % from 2008. Market share has risen to 2.9%, and total European TIV was down 16.9% year on year.

 

“The Russian market is still in turmoil - total TIV is 62% down year on year but other economies are showing signs of stabilization, with total demand levels slowly improving, albeit at a lower level than last year” - Francois Goupil de Bouillé, Vice President - Sales for Nissan in Europe.

 

Key markets highlights:

 

·              In the UK, Germany, France Italy and Spain both volumes and market share increased versus July 2008

 

·              Nissan’s market share was 2.9% in line with 2008 but ahead of expectations due to strong demand for Pixo, Micra, Note and Qashqai.
