NISSAN REPORTS FEBRUARY SALES IN EUROPE


ROLLE, Switzerland (March 5th, 2009)
- Nissan in Europe has reported 33,991sales in February, representing a decrease of 36.6% year on year.

 

Despite very difficult conditions with a TIV down 25%, Nissan is maintaining its market share, reaching 2.8% in February 2009.*

 

“We are fighting in an adverse environment with good achievements. The performance in most of our markets is solid and the market share achievements are excellent in Russia, UK & Spain”, said Francois Goupil de Bouille, Vice President - Sales for Nissan in Europe.

 

Key markets highlights:

 

·         Market shares in UK, Spain (both 4.3%), Holland (2.2%), Central Eastern Europe (4.4%) and Belgium (3%) are ahead of last year.

In Italy, Nissan’s market share remains stable compared with the same month in 2008, reaching 2.4% in February.*

 

·         In Germany where the government have introduced Scrap incentives, the market grew 19% versus Last year, the only market in Europe to show growth.

 

Key models highlights:

 

·         Sales of Infiniti went up compared to last year with an increase of 85%
